Dirty Walter A. Kibby II born in Columbus, OH. Jr. High/ Sr. High Woodland Hills, CA.
At a very early age in Columbus, OH Walt's father taught Walt how to play the army bugle. Walt mastered the bugle before his 10th birthday and decided that he was going to learn more about brass instruments. By third grade he had moved onto the trumpet. Listening to Louis Armstrong and all of the great horns players in P-Funk, Walt realized that he wanted to play the
trumpet full-time. At Hale Jr. High School in Woodland Hills, CA he joined
the school band where he met some young men who would later form Fishbone with Walt. He continued to play in the school band throughout High School (El Camino Real High in Woodland Hills, CA), and has continued to play with Fishbone for the past 24 years. Walt plays all three valve brass instruments but primarily focuses on the trumpet. As a vocalist and trumpet player he makes up 1/5 of the group Fishbone.
