Steve Reid
Steve Reid is the powerhouse lead-player with Brian Setzer. There is never a dull moment in that section! Having spent many years on the road with KC and the Sunshine Band, he is now based in L.A., where he lives with his lovely wife, Kate. Although the Setzer Orchestra keeps him busy, he also finds the time to freelance on the L.A. scene.

While in college at the University of North Florida, he performed at Disneyworld during the summers. After school, his unbelievable high range made him a natural for the Cat Anderson chair in the Duke Ellington Orchestra, under the direction of Mercer Ellington, touring the world while performing with such greats as Maureen McGovern, Cleo Laine, Ramsey Lewis and Joe Williams.

Moving to New York allowed him the opportunity to play on Broadway in Miss Saigon and Cats. In 1997, he accepted an offer to play the lead chair on the Maynard Ferguson orchestra.

New Orleans was his next stop where he spent 1998 through 2000 in the house band at the Famous Door on Bourbon Street.

His abilities as a lead player and soloist have kept him in high demand as he has had the pleasure of performing around the world with many of today's greatest artists, including Jon Faddis, Maria Schneider, the Pointer Sisters, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown, Ray Charles, Michael Feinstein, Donna Summers, Thelma Houston, Kool and the Gang, the Village People and Peter Grave's tribute to Jaco Pastorius' Word of Mouth big band, featuring many of the original members
