Wayne Rinehart
Wayne Rinehart, AKA "Big Wayne," is a SF Bay Area native, He is a jazz vocalist and trumpeter. Big Wayne is involved with many different projects from producing to recording. He can be seen performing with Highway 61 Blues Band where he plays Lead Trumpet and sings. Currently Wayne is also working on two solo albums, one Christian Jazz, the other, Modern Jazz. Both albums will feature original music. Big Wayne is incorporating technology into his music by using effects with voice and trumpet, creating very unique sounds.

Wayne has played the trumpet ever since his father bought him a trumpet from a garage sale at the age of 3. Through the years, though picking up various other instruments, Wayne never lost sight of the trumpet as his favorite instrument. Wayne played trumpet all through grade school and on into Diablo Valley College, where he was under the tutelage of Jim Hodges. This was where he really grew musically, developing his voice and horn playing.

Wayne recorded with Highway 61 Blues Band self titled Debut CD in 2005 which was on the Top Sellers list at Tower records. Highway 61 Blues Band has been nominated best Band in 2005 at the SBEA. And were Finalists in "The Battle of the Blues Bands" for Monterey Blues Festival 2005. The Band has also received national air play.

Big Wayne Has performed or shared the stage with: Mike Vax (Stan Kenton Orchestra) , Al Green, Kirk Franklin, Ron Kenoly, Tommy Castro, Little Charlie & the Night Cats, Chris Cain, Eddie Kirkland, Phil Guy, Red Archibald, Teddy "Blues Master" Watson, Layce Baker, Wylie Trass and Little Jimmy King, Elvin Bishop, The Temptations Motown Review Tour, Coco Montoya, Mic Martin and the Blues Rockers, Big Mo and the Full Moon Band, Greg Wright, Lydia Pence and Cold Blood, Mic Gillette (Tower of Power), Friends Of Distinction, and performed at the 2006 Monterey Blues Festival.

Big Wayne joined Calicchio in 2006 and absolutely LOVES his Custom Calicchio Trumpet!
